Turlock, Calif.—Expanding its reach to California’s central valley, home health provider CovenantCare at Home recently completed the purchase of the Home Care Services of Emanuel from Emanuel Medical Center in Turlock, California.
CovenantCare at Home is a subsidiary of Covenant Retirement Communities, a national senior services provider that operates 14 retirement communities nationwide, including Covenant Village of Turlock. Covenant Retirement Communities is one of the nation’s largest not-for-profit retirement housing organizations and like Emanuel Medical Center is a ministry of the Evangelical Covenant Church.
“Because CovenantCare at Home is a national home health agency, provides senior services and is a member of the Evangelical Covenant Church, we recognized that this change will bring our patients additional resources,” explains Emanuel President and C.E.O John Sigsbury, “This sale will serve the community by expanding the home health services available to the residents of Turlock and central California.”
The licensed, Medicare-certified agency will continue to provide a full range of home health and homemaker services, from light housekeeping to extensive round-the-clock nursing care. Its staff of nurses, dietitians, social workers, home health aides, and physical, occupational and speech therapists will remain the same.
Bringing a whole-person approach to wellness, CovenantCare at Home addresses every dimension of a patient’s wellness—physical, emotional, intellectual, social, spiritual and vocational. It uses a state-of-the-art assessment strategy to develop care plans that address the full range of the patient’s needs. And to facilitate communication with physicians, CovenantCare at Home will implement an electronic medical record system that will provide instant access to details of patients’ care.
Emanuel Medical Center is a not-for-profit, community-based Christian hospital. Its 415-bed multi-level medical campus includes a 221-bed acute care hospital, a 145-bed skilled nursing facility and a 49-bed assisted living facility. It provides emergency, critical care, pediatric, medical and surgical services, cardiology, hospice services and women’s health services.
