Denver Area Home Health Agency in Compliance with National Standards of Excellence for Medicare Services

Denver CO – February 18, 2010 – CovenantCare at Home (CovenantCare) of Westminster, CO, has been granted initial accreditation for quality home and community care by the Community Health Accreditation Program (CHAP).

Since 1965, first as a subsidiary of the National League for Nursing and the American Public Health Association, and now as an independent non-profit, CHAP has been committed to community based health care. The CHAP gold seal of approval assures patients and their families, physicians, insurance companies and health care professionals that accredited programs have gone beyond minimum quality levels and have met the industry’s highest nationally recognized standards of excellence.

Due to this recognition of quality service, the federal government recognizes CHAP accredited organizations as meeting Federal standards of quality and performance and therefore certified to provide care to Medicare patients.

According to Terry A. Duncombe MSHA RN, President and Chief Executive Officer of CHAP, “The accreditation that CovenantCare has achieved is important to the local and national health care community, and to the public at large. It demonstrates that an organization has achieved excellence in operations and the services it provides to people in need.”

As service organizations, CHAP accredited organizations are accountable to the public trust. Those in need of services and products can feel confident that providers like CovenantCare have successfully completed a rigorous independent evaluation process. Organizations with the CHAP seal embrace a community-driven philosophy for health care delivery, one focused on standards for leadership and management, quality of care, adequacy of resources and long term viability.

To earn CHAP accreditation, CovenantCare has voluntarily completed an intensive process of self-evaluation. Then CHAP experts come on site to conduct interviews, review documentation, and observe patient care and interview patients. All aspects of patient care and care-providing staff management are evaluated. Beyond licensure or certification where required, CovenantCare has chosen to voluntarily seek this higher standard of excellence.

Congratulations to CovenantCare and the communities’ fortunate enough to receive its superior services.
