Health Fair Screenings Available at Covenant Village of Colorado.

WESTMINSTER, Colo.—Health Fair screenings will be available in the main lobby of Covenant Village of Colorado, 9153 Yarrow St., Westminster, Colo., on Thursday, April 23, from 7 a.m. to noon.

One of five Westminster 9Health Fair locations, the site will be cosponsored by Covenant Village of Colorado and CovenantCare at Home, which provides private-duty home care services to residents of the continuing care retirement community and others in the community at large.

CovenantCare at Home will offer all the basic 9Health Fair screenings: blood chemistry screening, $30; prostate specific antigen screening, $25; colon cancer screening kit, $20; height/weight/body mass index (BMI) screening; vision screening; pulse and blood pressure screening; colon cancer education; talk with a health professional; and first aid. CovenantCare at Home will also provide the following free screenings:

• Ask a Pharmacist

• Blood Count Screening (Blood Draw)

• Body Fat Skinfold Screening

• Body in Balance

• Eye Health Screening

• Hearing Screening

• Mental Health Screening

• Nutrition Screening

• Oral Health Screening

• Osteoporosis Screening

Home health nurse Vernell Wilbanks, R.N., is site and medical coordinator. In addition, 60 Covenant Village residents, 10 CovenantCare at Home employees and members of the local community volunteered to staff the 9Health Fair site.

“In this tough economy, 9Health Fair encourages people to take control of their health and prevent unnecessary health emergencies,” says Wilbanks. “As a home care provider, that’s part of what we do every day. The fair gives us a great opportunity to reach even more people.”
